4. Let the Photos Inspire Your Copy

Some days you know exactly what to post, and the words seem to flow from your fingertips onto your keyboard (or touch screen). Other days, puppy pictures are calling you from all over the interwebs, and you can hardly put two words together.

On those days, go through your image folder (from tip #3), and let your images inspire you. On first one that jumps out at you, ask yourself, “Why did it catch your attention? What story does it tell?” Share that, and before you know it the words will be rolling again. (And yes, once you’re done, you can reward yourself with those cute puppies!) J

5. Go Beyond the Headshot

Make your photos about them – your audience. This one is hard at first, but the reason people follow you isn’t about you. It’s about them. You bring something into their lives that benefits them. Maybe it’s amazing software that helps them get their work done better and faster. Maybe it’s a clothing line that makes them feel great about themselves. Maybe you make them think – or motivate them – or maybe you just make them smile. Whatever it is, they believe they are better off for having you and your service or product in their lives. ⠀

That being said, show your audience things you have in common with them: family, routines, a quirky trait, or shared experiences. You will connect with them on a deeper level!

Now that you know how to make the most out of all of those fun photos of yours, go out and make your mark!
