5 Tips for Making the Most of Your Personal Brand Photography Collection | Part I

Now that you’ve completed your session with me and you have several months’ worth of fun, intriguing, professional photos right at your fingertips, how can you best utilize them to get your grand and your message out there?

1.     Automate

Depending on what you need and your personal preferences, there are several really great, user-friendly automatic posting services out there. (Because who has time to post on multiple social media platforms each day?!) I’m currently giving Buffer a test drive – I liked features and that it’s free up to a certain number of posts. So far so good. But I also have friends who love Hootsuite and Loomly. Check out this article by Forbes to compare some of the best social media management tools!

2.     Post to Multiple Platforms

Harness the power of the interwebs by posting to your favorite platforms at the same time. Going along with the first point, pick a social media management platform that will allow you to schedule your posts across all of the platforms you want to utilize.

*There are many apps out there that will do this as part of automating your posts, but make sure yours can handle your favorite platforms.

3.     Create an Image Library Folder

  • Go through all of your images to find ones appropriate for your personal brand message and copy them to a new image folder. If you are working with me, you can download the images directly to this folder. Set the folder to thumbnails and not list – as you browse the folder, you can let the photos inspire you! 
  • Place your new image library in your existing picture location, or if you have a clean desk top, put it there for super easy access!
  • If you’re like me and rely often on your computer’s search tool, name the folder something like “All the pics” – or another name high up in the alphabet so it is easy to find.
  • Next, inside your photo folder, create a “Used” folder. As you use an image, move it over to prevent you from re-using it too often. Do not delete them as you will want to revisit them in the future after the first cycle of posts.
