After the consultation where we chatted and decided to officially start working together comes the planning session. We nail down all the details to ensure that the session goes as smoothly as possible and you receive images that exceed your expectations. This phase can be divided into three parts:
1. The questionnaire
2. The meeting
3. The follow-up
The questionnaire is sent to you electronically and can be filled out online at your own pace and on your own time. The questionnaire helps me learn a little more about you, your brand, and the image you are trying to create. Progress is saved so you don’t have to finish it in one go, and I encourage you to take your time with the answers – the more detailed they are, the better prepared I will be for the planning meeting itself.
At the meeting, we will sit down and figure out which themes you want to convey and which stories to tell through your photos. We will also decide if anyone else should be involved, what props to incorporate, as well as the location, the date and time for the shoot. I’ll help you decide on what to wear for the session, and we can go over any questions and concerns you may have regarding personal branding or the shoot itself.
For the follow-up I will send you an itinerary for the day of the shoot based on our meeting. It will include the location(s) and people involved in addition to our meeting place and any props that will be used. At this point, it’s important that you check over everything in advance to make sure it all looks correct, and email me back any changes, questions or problems. As collaborators, communication is key to ensure all goes as planned – we want to make the most of our time, and I want to give you the best possible collection of images.
